Are You Hiding Your Accomplishments From the World?

July 23, 2015

Quit Hiding!  I’m referring to you, me and almost every other woman out there. Like most female entrepreneurs, you are probably hiding your accomplishments from the world. Those of us who are guilty of this are masters of trying to hide our accomplishments and our businesses because we don’t want anyone to think we’re showing off. Because, you know, it’s not lady-like to talk about our businesses and tell people about what we do. I’m entirely guilty of this on so many levels.

Quit Hiding Your Accomplishments

Quit Hiding Your Accomplishments

The reality is, many businesses fail, not because they suck, or are a lousy idea, but because nobody knows about them. Because we didn’t do a good enough job telling the world about our business.

If a tree falls in the forest, and no-one hears it, does it make a sound?

When you start a business, you take on the responsibility of getting noticed, for the sake of the business, and so that your clients can find you. That means putting yourself out there rather than sitting down and shutting up. Your business and your family need for you to get yourself out there. You need to become visible to the rest of the world… and Quit Hiding

That means taking some serious steps to become more visible. That means letting your family and friends know, and even calling them. It means getting out and going to Chamber of Commerce networking meetings. It means getting out from behind the desk, because the more time you spend out from behind the desk, the more well-known your business will be.

For my businesses, I’ve done a number of things to raise visibility, including a radio show, a book, blogging, Facebook Groups, Twitter, and going to Chamber of Commerce and other Networking meetings. Make a point of raising your visibility in the community and putting yourself out there.

You need to put yourself out there and be visible in the community to get the business you deserve. You need to become well known, and your business needs to become top of mind for the people in your community and target market. It’s time to stop hiding and step out into the limelight.

Draw attention to yourself – in a good way – to build visibility for your business. You have to become essentially famous, business famous, and people have to know about you, like you and trust you. You need to do all this to get where you need to go and get the income you deserve to earn.

Quit hiding – so your business can grow and thrive!
