EDII Director General Sunil Shukla stated that the institute has been successful in giving entrepreneurial and skill development training to craftsmen, weavers, women startup founders, and the unemployed, which has led to sustainable livelihood possibilities for those groups. He was of the opinion that rural entrepreneurship has the ability to power more than 70 percent of the Indian economy if the appropriate set of skills is taught to the appropriate group of people.

On Friday, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) made the announcement that it will collaborate with various corporations to launch 10,000 women-owned and -operated green businesses in 100 of India’s districts within the next thousand days. EDII has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the relevant government agency. The institute collaborates with several ministries and departments of the government, as well as India Inc., to realize various developmental projects aimed at fostering the all-around growth of communities.

The Director General of EDII, Sunil Shukla, stated that the institute had been effectively giving entrepreneurship and skill development training to artisans, weavers, women startup founders, and the unemployed, which has led to sustainable livelihood possibilities for these groups of people.

He was of the opinion that rural entrepreneurship has the ability to power more than 70 percent of the Indian economy if the appropriate set of skills is taught to the appropriate group of people.

What does EDII say?

According to Raman Gujral, Director of the Department of Projects (Corporates) at EDII, there is a growing need in the market for high-end value-added products and services that cause less damage to the environment.

“Keeping all small and large businesses in mind, we need to direct our attention to the development of methods for supporting environmentally friendly firms and enterprises in order to stimulate economic growth and protect the environment. Both rural and urban settings have a demand for cutting-edge technology and environmentally responsible business practices, “he stated.

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), which is a center of excellence recognized by the Government of India, has outlined the process by which the institute will collaborate with well-known corporations to establish 10,000 women-led environmentally conscious businesses in one hundred districts within one thousand days. The announcement came after a roundtable discussion on technology-enabled women-led environmentally conscious enterprises that had been held at the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi and was organized by EDII.

In the end, the environment is the most important consideration. Because people take so much from the environment, it eventually becomes their job to give something back to the environment; this is how we may build a civilization that is self-sustaining. It is a form of social responsibility to run a company that, in some way, contributes to the betterment of society.

Final Thoughts

It is interesting to note that EDII has provided training for the production of solar-based electrical items in rural areas of Karnataka as part of the MSDP initiative.
