Entrepreneur Interview Q & A

1. What is the name of your business? What does your business do?

The Career Introvert.

I am a career coach for female introverts. I help introverts learn the skills they need to get that next promotion, change jobs or start a business without feeling like they have to be an extrovert. I help them build their ideal lives that include and make space for their introversion.

2. Why did you get into this field? What opportunities did you see? Entrepreneur Interview - Janice Chaka 1

My background is in HR and time and time again I saw bias towards people with more extrovert tendencies. I also found out that I was an introvert fairly late on in my career. So I want to help people understand introversion and how to use it to their advantage.

3. What have been your biggest challenges?

Every time I tell someone I am a career coach for introverts, they either don’t know what to say or they ask me how I overcame my introversion.

My response is introversion is not like a cold it is not something to get over. It is who I am and I don’t need fixing.

4. What has been your greatest reward?

Seeing light-bulbs come on in peoples eyes when it finally clicks about their behavior and how they don’t have to feel guilty about it.

5. If you could change something, what would it be?

People’s negative perception about introversion. This is something I work against every day.

6. What advice would you give to a new entrepreneur?

There is no right or wrong way to do something. Everyone has their own unique journey. Just because something has been done before doesn’t mean it has been done your way.

Entrepreneur Interview - Janice Chaka 27. Social Media. Yay or Nay?

Honestly I am not a big fan for many reasons. People now expect perfection, they are only seeing the highlight reel of someones life, too much information is shared in ways you really might not know about.

I do use it but with restraint.

8. How do you market your products or services?

Mainly through my podcast The Traveling Introvert, webinars, and speeches. Personally, I have found that I hate writing and so I use my voice to give people an idea what it would be like to work with me in person.

9. If your business sells products, how do you handle production?

N/A

10. What is unique about your business?

As a coach my prices are transparent and on my website and I don’t put you through a set program that everyone else gets. My work is tailored to you. I try to make my prices affordable but if you can’t work with me one on one straight away there is the option of taking one of courses in my online school The Career School for Introverts.

Not only that as part of my business model I make sure I give back in various ways from sponsoring girls to do a NASA hackathon to taking on an apprentice.

11. Sell me your product/service.

If you are tired of feeling you have to be an extrovert to get ahead let me help you find balance and success in your career or business. Don’t let introversion define you, let it guide you.

12. How can people get in touch with you? What’s your website url and contact information? Entrepreneur Interview - Janice Chaka 3
