Social media can be a fantastic tool for marketers, and should be a part of your marketing plan. Nearly half the world’s population uses social media. That said, it’s important to use the right social media site to connect with your target audience. Not everyone uses all social media, so identifying the correct platform to use will help you get your plan right the first time. LinkedIn is one good example of this. LinkedIn is 277% more effective than Facebook and Twitter when it comes to B2B marketing. That isn’t to say that Facebook and Twitter are useless or that they don’t have their strengths, but LinkedIn may be a better option for those in the B2B segment.

Analyze, Analyze, Analyze

One of the main keys to getting your plan right the first time is a good analysis. There are lots of things you should be analyzing, such as your competition, your target audience, and what methods are most likely to yield the results you want. You should also be doing an ongoing analysis of different key performance indicators related to your marketing strategy. This will keep you updated on how successful your efforts are and what may not be performing as expected.

Getting your marketing plan right the first time can save you a lot of time and money as a business. To increase your chances of doing this, make sure you hire the right team, use the right social media platforms to connect with your audience, and perform regular analyses. Even if you don’t quite get everything right the first time, you’ll be in a better position to make adjustments and improve your plan even more.
