Just as there are plenty of ways to motivate people, there are also many surefire ways to demotivate employees.  I came across this article today on demotivating employees.  Note that it’s easier to demotivate and annoy people than it is to get them to do what they should do.  If you engage in any of the behaviors discussed in the article, you’re going to have problems.  But, there are lots of other ways to annoy people and win enemies too.  So, what’s a person to do?

The answer is to think before you speak.  Note that many of the behaviors I talked about before on motivating employees involve thought.  Avoiding demotivating behaviors requires plenty of thought as well.
